All About Your Lash Extension Options in Houston

If you’re interested in ditching those false lash strips and trading it in for luscious lash extensions, there are a few things we think you should know before making the switch. Here at Beauty and the Wax Suite, we understand how amazing lash extensions can be, so we’ve curated a few helpful pointers to make sure you can strut your stuff with confidence.

What are lash extensions?

When you get lash extensions, you are essentially adding a little extra umph to your natural set of eyelashes. The process of obtaining full, wispy lashes with lash extensions is achieved by applying fine, lightweight, individual lashes to your natural lash line. These individual lashes are generally made of synthetic fibers and are applied with a gentle, semi-permanent adhesive.

The benefits of lash extensions

If you’re here, you probably already have an idea of how a lash extension can benefit you on a daily basis; however, we’re happy to lay them all out for you just in case!

The most obvious benefit is the amount of time it saves you when you're getting ready in the morning. Even if you’re practically an expert when it comes to applying your false lashes, removing it takes that extra step out of your morning routine.

Additionally, instead of being limited to certain pre-manufactured styles, your new set is 100% customizable. Regardless of what color, length, or density you desire, your lash tech should be able to work with you to bring your vision to life!

With the addition of lash extensions, you no longer need your eyelash curler or even your mascara. Swimming, going to the beach, and even going to the water park are all available options with your new lashes – and the best part? No need to worry about looking wild after you’ve taken a dip in the water!

How long do lash extensions last?

So, you’re investing your time and money into a little bit of self-care. But how long will it last? While each application can generally last around six weeks, the longevity of your set is completely dependent on your hair's natural growth cycle.

Every strand of hair on your body goes through a natural growth cycle before falling. Since these lash extensions are directly attached to your natural lashes, when your lash falls, so does the extension. As your lashes start to shed naturally, you can meet with your lash technician to complete a filler set to ensure you keep that flawless look.

Do lash extensions harm your natural lashes?

When it comes to eyelash extensions, any potential for risk is minimal. There should be no damage to your natural eyelashes when you go to a reputable, licensed eyelash technician

There have been claims that eyelash extensions weigh down your natural lash, cause breakage, and stop some new growth from surfacing correctly. While these are valid concerns, the risk is only present if the technician is not properly skilled, or if your new eyelashes are not cared for properly. The most common issue that new clients face if they are not used to extensions is the inability to rub the eye area. Rubbing creates additional strain to the lash that could cause it to break or even fall faster than anticipated. Don’t rub those eyes!

The types of lash extensions offered at Beauty and the Wax Suite

Here at Beauty and the Wax Suite, we offer three specific types of eyelash extension sets at our lash studio. We encourage you to not only have a photo reference of the look you’re trying to achieve, but also decide what type of lash set you may be interested in.

Classic set

Our classic sets, also known as Sencilla sets, are our most natural sets of extensions. These lashes are intended to minimally enhance your natural eyelashes, giving them a fuller, more distinguished look.

Our Sincilla sets mimic the look of the volume and density of your natural lashes when coated with high quality mascara. This type of set is good for those with a tight schedule, as it only takes around an hour to complete.

Hybrid set

The Bonita set is our hybrid set. A hybrid set is a nice escalation from your normal, natural looking sets. A hybrid set can successfully boost the beauty of your natural lashes, while also adding a little extra umph!

If you want naturally looking, full lashes, a hybrid set may be for you.

Volume lashes

Last, but certainly not least, we have our volume lashes – Dramatica. As the name would suggest, these lashes are here to give you a dramatic, full volume look. If you’re hoping to wake up everyday giving off boss lady energy, this set is for you.
